Breaking: Shake-up as Tinubu Sacks Chief of Defence Staff, Others

President Bola Tinubu has sacked General Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, and some other service chiefs. This was contained in a statement by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, on Friday. According to the statement, Musa was replaced by General Olufemi Oluyede, who until the new appointment was Chief of Army Staff. Major-General W. Shaibu was named as the new Chief of Army Staff while Air Vice Marshall S.K Aneke is the new Chief of Air Staff and Rear Admiral I. Abbas is the new Chief of Naval Staff. Police re-arrest human rights activist and campaigner for -#freennamdikanunow after his hearing at Kuje’s magistrate court on Friday. Sowore and a member of the legal team representing the detained IPOB LEADER L, Nnamdi Kanu, THE IPOB LEADER’s brother, prince emmanuel Kanu and ten others were able to meet the bail conditions of two sureties in the sum of N500 thousand naira with valid means of identifications and 3 years of tax clearance. But only sowore was picked and whisked away by the police to Kuje prison .

OPEYEMI AKINYEMI, OSOGBO, OSUN STATE  Over 20 officers of the Western Nigeria Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun, have been arrested in connection with the recent Akinlalu incident in Osun State. The Police have also sealed the operational bases of the security outfit in Osogbo and Ile-Ife. Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Amotekun Corps in the state, Yusuf Idowu, said Police officers also arrested about five operatives in Ife, the area covering the community where the killings occurred last week Tuesday. The arrests were made when Police stormed the Amotekun operational base at Oke-Fia in Osogbo on Wednesday evening.
