Governor Adeleke Urges Prayers for Unity

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called on religious leaders across Nigeria to intensify prayers for the nation’s peace and unity as the country continues to face social and economic challenges.

The Governor made the call on Tuesday evening while hosting the leadership of the Muslim Ummah of Southwest Nigeria (MUSWEN) during a courtesy visit to his office in Osogbo.

Governor Adeleke stressed the vital role of spiritual leaders in promoting national cohesion, noting that prayers and collective goodwill remain key to Nigeria’s stability and development.

“Our country needs prayers and unity more than ever before,” the Governor said. “As leaders of faith, I urge you to continue praying for Nigeria and for those in authority. My administration will always provide a peaceful and conducive atmosphere for all religions to thrive.”

He assured Muslims in Osun and the entire Southwest of his government’s commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths.

In his remarks, the President of MUSWEN, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, commended Governor Adeleke for his exemplary leadership and dedication to good governance, describing him as a true ambassador of Islam.

Alhaji Oladejo, who led the MUSWEN delegation ahead of the body’s 2025 Delegates Conference to be held in Osun State, praised the Governor for transforming the state within a short period and prayed for continued divine guidance for his administration.

He further disclosed that the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, will be the Special Guest of Honour at the conference. President Bola Tinubu will serve as the Father of the Day, while Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, will deliver the keynote address.
