JUST IN: Osun Governor Adeleke Resigns From PDP
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, has announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, bringing an abrupt end to his long political association with the party.
The development followed a formal letter dated 4 November 2025 and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Ede North Local Government.
The governor, in the letter written on the official letterhead of the Office of the Governor, said he was withdrawing from the party with immediate effect.
Governor Adeleke explained that his decision arose from what he described as the ongoing crisis within the national leadership of the PDP. According to him, the situation had made it difficult to continue as a member.
He expressed appreciation to the party for the years of support, noting that the PDP had provided the platform through which he was elected as Senator representing Osun West and later as Governor of Osun State.
The letter was acknowledged and signed by the Ward Chairman, Saka Kamoludeen Alamu, who confirmed receipt of the original copy on 4 November 2025.
