Another fuel tanker explosion in Jigawa state 

Another fuel tanker explosion has occurred in Gamoji Village, a boundary town between Kano and Jigawa border. 

The Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service in Jigawa State Command, Aliyu Muhd confirmed the incident.

A similar incident happened in Majia town of Taura local government area in Jigawa state last month, resulting in over one hundred and fifty fatalities

The National Youth Service Corps has announced a change in the orientation schedule for prospective corps members deployed to Enugu and Osun states for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II exercise. This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu. The scheme said the orientation course for the two states will now commence on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and end on Monday, May 18, 2026. NYSC said, “This slight adjustment is due to the ongoing extensive renovation of the Camps by the State Governments which has necessitated the date change. “For the avoidance of doubt, the Orientation Exercise for all other states and the FCT is scheduled to be held from Wednesday, April 22, 2026, to Tuesday, May 12, 2026. It urged affected prospective corps members to take note of the revised dates and comply accordingly. The scheme also wished all prospective corps members a safe journey to their respective states of deployment. -END-

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, has announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, bringing an abrupt end to his long political association with the party. The development followed a formal letter dated 4 November 2025 and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Ede North Local Government. The governor, in the letter written on the official letterhead of the Office of the Governor, said he was withdrawing from the party with immediate effect. Governor Adeleke explained that his decision arose from what he described as the ongoing crisis within the national leadership of the PDP.
