Stop Castigating, Harassing Alapomu, Osun PDP warns APC

The Osun State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a stern warning to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop harassing and intimidating, Alapomu of Apomu land, Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi for supporting his son in the 2023 election.

This warning comes amid calls from Osun APC for the monarch's investigation by the Inspector General of Police and also demand his suspension as a King, which the PDP sees as a blatant attempt to intimidate a leader who advocates for good governance.

Reacting to the statement, the State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi described the opposition party as a clout chaser who is always dying for attention with their rudderless statements. Kabiesi Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi never incited electoral violence like the confused opposition implied.

"APC should be reminded that during their 12 years of unproductive administration in Osun State, there was a king who left his royal stool and joined campaign multiple times. Made the town hell for members of our party during his days. Kola Olabisi must have forgotten how highly his party held the king because it was in their favour."

He, however, described Alapomu of Apomu, Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi as an advocate of peace and defender of his people against intimidation and harassment. "APC is known for promoting violence, terror, and harassment against political opponents as we can see in the past."

"It is quite unfortunate that the opposition party still dwells in their rejection of the 2023 election with wailing on the massive defeat of 2022. You can beat a child but you can't tell him how to cry. However, it is highly embarrassing that they have began blackmailing and castigating and harassing royal fathers who rejected them."

"Governor Ademola Adeleke's performance have further shown that the Osun APC is better dissolved into a political pressure group. The opposition group have failed in government and are already failing as opposition."

"It's worth noting that traditional rulers hold significant cultural and symbolic value in Nigeria. Unfortunately, the APC in Osun state seems to disregard this, showing a lack of respect for these esteemed leaders, he concluded.
