Breaking News: Explosion rocks Eke Ubaheze market in Imo State. Video









The Imo State Police Command has assured residents of the state of safety of lives and property  following an improvised explosive device detonated  at Eke Ubaheze market Awo Idemili in Orsu Local Government Area which resulted  in the  death of some people   and injuring of others.

The Police Public Relations Officer  Imo State Command  Henry Okonye in a statement  says the Commissioner of Police Aboki Danjuma  has deployed  operatives of the Command's Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit to cordon off the area,evacuate victims and sweep the market vicinity for any other planted IEDs.

CP DANJUMA also called for comprehensive  investigation  of the unfortunate incident aimed at unmasking and apprehending the perpetrators  .

He also urged residents of Orsu and neighboring communities to remain calm and continue their daily activities without fear, assuring that robust security measures have been put in place to prevent a recurrence.
