Osun Assembly Prepares for Governor Adeleke's 2026 Budget Presentation

The Osun State House of Assembly is set to receive Governor Ademola Adeleke for the formal presentation of the 2026 draft budget on Wednesday.

The development was announced during the House plenary session on Tuesday, following the reading of an official communication from the Governor to the Assembly.

The letter, read by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, notified members of Governor Adeleke’s readiness to present the government’s financial proposals for the 2026 fiscal year. It stated in part:

"I am pleased to inform Mr. Speaker and the distinguished members of the Osun State House of Assembly of my intention to lay the 2026 Draft

Estimates of the State before the House on Wednesday, 12th November, 2025, having concluded its preparation and approved by the State Executive Council.

This is to conform with the extant rules and regulations which stipulate that such Draft Estimates should be presented to the House for approval before the end of the year preceding the commencement of the Budget implementation.”

The presentation will offer Governor Adeleke a platform to highlight key expenditure priorities and strategic plans for the state in the coming year.

This marks a crucial step in Osun’s fiscal planning process, enabling lawmakers to scrutinize, debate, and approve the financial framework that will guide government operations in 2026.

Meanwhile, the Osun State Research Integration and Innovation Implementation Bill, 2025, passed through its first reading during Tuesday’s plenary session.
