Just In: Olugbenga Adebayo emerges PDP Governorship Candidate in Osun
The National Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to Governor Seyi Makinde has declared Olugbenga Adebayo as the winner of the party’s 2025 governorship primary election in Osun State.
Amidst an ongoing internal crisis within the national leadership of PDP, the party conducted its gubernatorial primary election today in Osogbo, the state capital.
The primary election was initially scheduled to hold at Atlantis Multipurpose Hall, Ring Road, but was later relocated to Adolak Event Hall, Ogooluwa, in Osogbo due to undisclosed reasons.
Accreditation of delegates from the 31 Local Government Areas including Modakeke Area Office began around 11:00 a.m. with 957 delegates fully accredited out of the 990 expected to participate in the primary election.
The party’s primary election was held amidst tight security.
Announcing the result, the the Chairman, Electoral Committee, Humphrey Abba, stated that Adebayo secured 919 votes out of 957 accredited voters.
