‎The immediate past Deputy Speaker and incumbent Member representing Boripe/Boluwaduro State Constituency, Right Honourable Olufemi Popoola, has described the 87th birthday anniversary of the former Governor of Osun State, Chief Adebisi Akande, as a celebration of a living legend whose indelible contributions to the development and growth of Nigeria remain impeccable, historic, motivational and enduring.

‎In his congratulatory message,tagged "BABA AKANDE'' A SOUL OF PROGRESSIVISM" Right Honourable Olufemi Popoola highlighted and commended what he described as Chief Akande’s selfless service, marked by dedication and commitment to the advancement of Osun State and Nigeria at large.
‎
‎Right Honourable Popoola used the occasion to praise and eulogise the divine and exceptional brilliance and capacity of Baba Akande in nation-building, stating that at both national and state levels, Chief Akande’s performance has never fallen below standard.
‎
‎According to him, the octogenarian is a blessing and an asset to Nigeria and humanity. He further asserted that the celebrant, as the pioneer Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is one of the architects of the national government Nigerians are currently enjoying.
‎
‎He described Baba Akande as a straightforward, an astute politician, disciplined and a true nationalist.
‎
‎“On this memorable occasion of your birthday anniversary, I would like to specially and sincerely salute your doctrine of consistency, love, passion and compassion. Indeed, you are a visionary leader, sir,” he said.
‎
‎“On behalf of the people of Boripe/Boluwaduro, I heartily felicitate with our father, leader, mentor and benefactor on the occasion of your 87th birthday anniversary. My prayer is that Almighty God will elongate and prolong your life so that you may witness many more of such occasions.”

BREAKING: OSUN GOVT ISSUES DIRECTIVE ON TEXTBOOK USAGE IN PRIVATE SCHOOLS, BAN GRADUATION CEREMONIES OPEYEMI AKINYEMI, OSOGBO  The Osun State Government has issued a directive to all proprietors and proprietress of faith-based and private schools to approve and maintain a consistent list of textbooks to be used by pupils and students for three consecutive academic sessions. The State Government also placed a ban on graduation ceremonies for nursery and kindergarten pupils across public and private schools in the state. The move, according to the government, is aimed at reducing financial burdens on parents and guardians, and to ensure uniformity and stability in learning materials across schools. Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, led a high-powered delegation to the Medium Security Custodial Centres in Ilesa and Ile-Ife on Tuesday, 24th June, 2025, and Wednesday, 25th June, 2025, respectively. The delegation included esteemed members of the Judiciary, Ministry of Justice, Men of the bar, Prosecutors, Legal Aid Council, National Human Rights Commission, and other stakeholders.
