Speaking at the event, the Rector of the polytechnic. Engr. Dr. Sanni Manyaya, disclosed that the reinstatement of the affected students followed the intervention of the Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Taiwo Akanbi
According to the him the decision to recall the rusticsted students was taken after the Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Taiwo Akanbi, encouraged the management to give the students another opportunity.
"Yes, we were once students and now we are staff. Some of our students were expelled, but when the Governing Council Chairman came on board, he encouraged us to call them back.
“All those expelled students were recalled. Some of them are now graduates, while others are still studying" he said.
While advising the students, Dr Manyaya urged them to live responsibly and avoid actions that could harm others, stating that "Live your life but never attempt to bring anyone down".
In his remarks, Prof. Akanbi reaffirmed his commitment to protecting the interests of students, noting that his personal experience as a former student has shaped his leadership approach.
"Anywhere I am, I will always support students because I was once like you. As long as I am here, the interest of students will always be paramount.
