Former Chairman of the Lagos State Council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Musiliu Akinsanya has been unanimously elected as the new national President of the NURTW. Musiliu, popularly known as MC Oluomo, was elected by the Union's delegates from Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti, and Lagos states during NURTW Zone 2 Quadrennial National Delegate Conference, held at the Council's Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun state. Akinsanya’s unopposed nomination was made by the Ekiti State Chairman of the Union, Joseph falope and seconded by the Ondo State counterpart, Ademola Odudu Speaking after the election, the Acting National President of the NURTW, who was represented by the union's head of finance, Adedamola Salam, emphasized that the process was in line with the Union's constitution, adding that the conference would help chart a new course for the Union.
