Minimum Wage: Osun Retirees beg Adeleke to implement National Industrial Court's judgement  By Opeyemi Akinyemi  The Concerned forum of 2011/2012 retired public servant in osun state has implored governor Ademola Adeleke to implement the judgement of National Industrial Court Of Nigeria on 18,000 naira minimum wage delivered in October, 2017. Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has presented free health insurance cards to no fewer than 10,000 people living with disabilities in the state. Adeleke also distributed life-support gadgets and state-of-the-art medical aids to the PWDs, saying the equipment will make existence more meaningful for them. The gadgets included thousands of wheelchairs (manual and automated), crutches, walking sticks, talking watches, artificial limbs, hearing aids, ultraviolet umbrellas, cream and glasses – for albinos – and many more other gadgets. Speaking at the presentation and distribution of the items in Osogbo on Tuesday, Governor Adeleke said some of the people with disabilities will also undergo free surgical procedures to cure their ailments. Supreme Court nullifies National Lottery Act

Ann On Cam:   The Supreme Court has nullified the National Lottery Act 2005 enacted by the National Assembly. In a unanimous judgment , a seven-member of the apex court, held that the National Assembly lacked the powers to legislate on issues relating to lottery and games of chance. The court held that such powers only reside with the state Houses of Assembly, which possess exclusive jurisdiction over lottery and games of chance. Justice Mohammed Idris, who read the judgment ordered that the National Lottery Act 2005 should no longer be enforced in all states, except the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), in respect of which the National Assembly is empowered to make laws. The judgment was on the suit filed in 2008 by Lagos and some other states.

The government of Osun state has shed more light on how the new minimum wage of Seventy Five Thousand Naira was adopted and approved by Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke  for civil servants in the state. Police officers get injured as patrol vehicle crashes into residential building while escaping from thugs in Niger State.

  The spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, Superintendent Wasi'u Abiodun, has confirmed that one of its operational patrol vehicles has crashed into a residential building at Angwan-Kaje, in the Maitumbi Area, within the metropolis.  Abiodun says, the incident occurred around 9:30 pm on Monday, when miscreants and thugs, armed with stones and other dangerous weapons, launched an assault on one of the "Operation Flush" patrol vehicles. It was gathered that the driver, in an attempt to escape the attack, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a nearby residential property, causing major damage.  The police image maker added that reinforcements were dispatched to the area to restore order. He said the policemen who sustained minor injuries were being treated.  He said that the Divisional Police Officer of Maitumbi is handling the issue, and efforts are underway to arrest the people who attacked the police officers while on duty.

Police in Enugu State, Southeast Nigeria, have arrested two suspects linked to the murder of the Chairman of the Ogbete Main Market Traders Association (OMMATA), Stephen Aniagu. The suspects, identified as 28-year-old Chukwudi Aboshi, a native of Anike in Ikwo Local Government Area, Ebonyi State, and Ani Innocent Ebuka, also known as "Excellent," a driver from Isigwe-Ugbawka in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, were apprehended in Akwuke, Awkunanaw, Enugu South LGA. The Executive Governor of Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Wednesday, presented N390b 2025 appropriation bill to the Osun state house of assembly. The Governor who tagged the budget "Budget of Sustainable Growth and Transformation" said it's borne out of the need to reconstruct the damaged economy and infrastructural facilities of Osun state. EFCC Arraigns Syndicate Impersonating Olukoyede for $700,000 Fraud.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arraigned two members of an alleged syndicate, Ojobo Joshua and Aliyu Hashim for impersonating and attempting to blackmail the Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede. They were arraigned on Wednesday before Justice Jude Onwuebuzie of the Federal Capital Territory, High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja. The suspects allegedly contacted Mohammed Bello-Koko,a former Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, claiming to have access to a phony investigation involving him by the EFCC. They demanded $1 million, promising that Olukoyede would ensure a “soft landing” for them. They also threatened him with arrest and prosecution should he fail to play along with them. The EFCC filed a four-count charge against the duo for impersonation and attempted fraud.
