The Deputy Majority Leader of the Osun State House of Assembly and Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Adekunle Oladimeji, has condemned the destruction of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign billboards. ‎ ‎While inspecting some of the locations where the vandalised billboards were erected in Osogbo and its environs, Hon. The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has fixed 28-30 April 2026 for the written examination for applicants seeking enlistment as Police Constables (for both General Duty and Specialist applicants). NYSC Shifts Orientation Date For Osun, Enugu

The National Youth Service Corps has announced a change in the orientation schedule for prospective corps members deployed to Enugu and Osun states for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II exercise. This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu. The scheme said the orientation course for the two states will now commence on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and end on Monday, May 18, 2026. NYSC said, “This slight adjustment is due to the ongoing extensive renovation of the Camps by the State Governments which has necessitated the date change. “For the avoidance of doubt, the Orientation Exercise for all other states and the FCT is scheduled to be held from Wednesday, April 22, 2026, to Tuesday, May 12, 2026. It urged affected prospective corps members to take note of the revised dates and comply accordingly. The Independent National Electoral Commission has revised the timetable for the 2027 General Election, moving the presidential and National Assembly polls to January and the governorship and state assembly elections to February. The commission also shifted the Osun State gubernatorial election to August 15, 2026. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Malam Mohammed Kudu Haruna, said the commission approved a Revised Timetable and Schedule of Activities following changes in the electoral law. INEC had earlier fixed Saturday, February 20, 2027 for the Presidential and National Assembly elections and Saturday, March 6, 2027 for the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections under the Electoral Act, 2022.
